Since the beginning of this year the Lord has asked me to concentrate on the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. It was no coincidence that the message preached at the church service I attended on the 9 January 2022 was on the book of Nehemiah. Again the Holy Spirit told me to read chapter 4 in Nehemiah on the 26 January 2022.

In Nehemiah chapter 4 we see that Sanballat and Tobiah are ridiculing and mocking the Jews for rebuilding of the wall. Read chapter 4 and see below the 7 steps for your battle plan.

You could be in a situation today where you feel discouraged and oppressed. You are surrounded by people who are pointing fingers at your circumstances, condemning you for your faith in changing what is broken or fragmented to something that is restored for the kingdom and for the glory of God!

A lying, discouraging attack will often have some truth in it, but it will neglect the great truth: God is with us and has promised to see us through.

Do not be run down by criticism. Be sensitive to God’s voice even in the midst of criticism. Faith is believing in God and His love and promise. Discouragement drags you down. You look for and believe in the worst case scenario. You forget about who God is and what He has promised to do. The enemy will mock you to discourage you so that you lose hope and faith. Do not let your guard down, look unto Yeshua all the time.

This message is for you!

Step 1 – (Read Nehemiah 4:4-5) take it to the Lord in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Step 2 – (Read Nehemiah 4:6) work with all your heart for the kingdoms purpose – through prayer, fellowship, intercession – he will guide you and show you what to sow into. Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Step 3 - (Read Nehemiah 4:7-9) the enemy will threaten to attack you on your journey. Don’t give up. When you stay focused on God, your shortfalls are revealed (envy, jealousy, lust, greediness, pride, fear, addictions, bitterness, anger etc.) so that you can close the gaps, your character is strengthened in God. You are prepared for battle. The Lord will reveal the enemies plans if you stay focused in Him and in the attitude of prayer. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Step 4 – (Read Nehemiah 4:10) The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy – he will attack when you are vulnerable. You may feel tired during the journey. Don’t give up! Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 Corinthians 12:9- “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” When I am weak, God is strong! Ask the Lord to renew your strength. Isaiah 40:31 - But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Step 5 – (Read Nehemiah 4:11-15) The Lord reveals the plans of the enemy continuously when you seek God. He will give you wisdom and discernment on how to manage the attack of the enemy. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you will prosper. Remember who the Lord is and fight for your families, the sons and daughters all over the world.

Step 6 – (Read Nehemiah 4: 16-18) – You continue to move forward with the spirit of God. Equip yourself by putting the armour of God. The sword in your hand is the word of God and continue to build God’s kingdom with the other hand. Matthew 4:4 “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Step 7 – (Read Nehemiah 4: 19-23) - Persevere day and night – relentlessly with an enduring spirit. Our God will fight for us! Matthew 9:37-38 The harvest is great but the workers are few. 2022 – stop making excuses and start contributing to building the kingdom of God. You are blessed to be a blessing. All things are from God and all things belong to God.1 John 2:15-16 Do Not Love This World nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

All the spending on cars, cell phones, devices, false nails, hair extensions and houses are fleeting. There are people all over the world hungry, homeless, victims of an evil system, there are lack of places to worship God, lack of leaders willing to teach God’s word – the vacancies are available. Your resume must include – accept Yeshua as your Saviour and to love one another as God loves us (John 13:34). Fill the position and get along with building the kingdom of God.

The above battle plan must be your lifestyle and so that you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the trumpet.
