Today my husband’s granny is 85 years old. She epitomises wisdom, love and strength. She has a witty sense of humour and her eyes twinkle with mischievousness. Her English is impeccable, and she will quickly correct your grammar. Her eyes are the window to a beautiful soul. As she drifts sometimes into a faraway past that holds sweet memories, we realise each day how blessed we are to have her in our lives.
Cherish the elderly in your family. Spend quality time with them. Enjoy their changes with compassion and love.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.
Wisdom is with the aged; and understanding in length of days.
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.
Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.
Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.
